What a colorful day - Evia Island

Evia Island - Greece
Color Island

Hey cats and kitten, today was a good day. We took a trip to Evia Island. Let’s just say I swam; I swam like no one’s business. I didn’t forget my snorkel gear and I wasn’t afraid to use it. I remember the last time I snorkeled. Oh my, it was June 2024. It has been a full year already. Where has the time gone?

8:30 am

I started my day walking over to the local AB grocery to get more Euros. Surprise! Surprise! The store was closed. I walked in, unknown to me, the store was in disarray. Lettuce and vegetables thrown on the floor, shelves were emptied. A store attendant walked over to me and said, “store closed, sorry.” I asked what time the store would open. She replied, “closed all day.” I walked off and went to my favorite breakfast spot, EVERST. I grabbed two turkey sandwiches & a muffin chocolate chip to go. I successfully made it to breakfast at the college before everyone left. I mingled and ate. There was a small dance break (thanks Sam) before the group packed up the vans for the ride over to the port.

10:01 am
We made it on time to the ferry, thank goodness. The titanic enjoyed the Caribbean music on the ride over. We waited for the ferry ⛴️ for the 10:30 am ride over to Evia.

10:56 am

On the boat ride over to Evia, the seagulls flew next to the ferry. The passengers held out crackers and snacks for the seagulls to grab from their fingers. I tried it as well. Haha, it was a fail. Oh well there is always another time. I still had fun, it was an experience nonetheless. The view of the blue sea and gorgeous mountains in the background as we sailed away was breathtaking
.

12:30 pm

The group found a “quiet” corner of the beach. Music was blasting and the beach chairs

were
open. As everyone ordered their drink of the day, I noticed kids painting in a cardboard

box.

It was a color event by Fireflies. There were chalk power colors

the guest could put on the board or themselves. I thought it was

just for the kiddos, oh boy was I wrong. Haha. Hold that thought.

I finished my drink (10/10) and photo shoot when Katie came over. She had a nice find. A heart

shaped rock.

12:47 pm

While flicking the pics, my two roomies came over. Ready to get in the water. I rushed to grab my snorkel gear and ran right in.

1:15 pm

At the top of the road, we caught Dr. Lawson dancing (per usual) but with paint on his shirt. He waved us down to come over. We dried off and walked over. The group took over the color party. Throwing chalk color, hips out of place...three of the girls walked up to discover we are covered in chalk. The dance party was JUST getting started. Soon I was doing the sprinkler and one leg dances *can't reinjure the knee* !

SEU definitely became the life of the party until closing time.

2:15 pm
Lunch break.

Boy does our professors know how to keep our bellies full.

The table was filling up seconds at a time. From salads, dips, fried cheese, spicy cheese, seafood, and dessert.

I was pooped (no toilet needed).
    haha.

The food settled in and filled my belly. It was time for a nap.

However, there was a loud meow on the side of my head.

A very sassy kitten

A hungry kitten was under the seats meowing asking for a piece of food. Unfortunately, it was recommended not to feed the baby. So we sat and ignored the sassy kitten. She tried every trick in the book. Meowing, sitting at our feet, climbing under the table, walking back and forth from the first seat to the last. Dr. Lawson almost feed the baby then BOOM!! Staff walked over as soon as he put it hand down under the table. That plan was busted. He gobbled the piece of fish down and aborted the mission.

3:34 pm

The group aimlessly walked back to the beach. The group exhausted and partied out. We picked a chair and laid out for our evening rest. The winds were knocking the socks off of mannequins and feathers of birds. I couldn’t get a good nap in because my beach towel kept flying from left to right. I maybe got ten good minutes of sleep. No worries, I will sleep good tonight.

5:27 pm

We headed back to the port. The titanic was parked .025 miles away waiting for the party squad to return. I enjoyed the silent ride home. While the squad rested, I listened to another episode of a Date with Dateline. As I closed my eyes, my ears opened to “Hey everybody this Kimberly and this is Katie,” I knew today I did good. Really good.

7:48 pm

I am beyond tired, and I ran into the shower. Dinner was called and I was too tired to go downstairs to grab a slice. I picked myself up to grab a few slices of cheese pizza and Fanta orange then dragged myself back upstairs. I am ready for bed.

Until next time cats and kittens.
