We Are Going To Greece

 We Are Going to Greece

(a poem for the journey)

Where are we going?

Most of our lives,

we have no idea.

We drift,

we try,

we guess.

We hope the next step will make sense

once we take it.

And then—

something shifts.

Suddenly,

we discover

life has been guiding us all along.

The path appears,

not always easy,

but ours.

Scared though we are,

we keep moving.

Forward.

Together.

We are going to Greece.

Not just to see,

but to be.

To celebrate

time carved out of busy lives,

to live side by side

as something new unfolds.

For twenty days,

we are not students or strangers.

We are fellow travelers,

threaded together

by shared meals,

shared questions,

shared wonder.

We will walk ancient roads

and learn things no classroom could teach.

We will laugh until we ache,

sit quietly when words aren’t needed,

and become part of each other’s stories

in ways we cannot yet imagine.

This is not just a trip.

This is a turning point.

A breath.

A beginning.

A chance to remember who we are,

and discover who we’re becoming.

So here we are.

Together.

Moving forward.

To Greece—

to history,

to beauty,

to each other.
