24 Hours in Santorini!!

I had the privilege of waking up to a beautiful sunrise, on the Island of Santorini with some new friends, and I am full of joy! Ten of us chose to use our free day and book a flight to the island and stay in an absolutely beautiful resort called Dome. (@domesantoriniresort on instagram) As we sat on our balcony’s next to each other, we couldn’t find the words to describe how grateful we all were to be in Santorini. We kept reminding ourselves and each other saying, “We are, in this moment, right here. Soak it in!” So we did.
Having breakfast sent to our rooms, clad in robes and slippers, carrying tote bags, and being given toiletry bags filled with local branded needs. We were all filled with glee as we passed these things around and were able to enjoy them!
After breakfast we lounged by the pool, taking pictures and enjoying each other’s company. Taking in every moment that was passing, enjoying the insane views all around us. Basking in the love of our creator through His kindness and creation around us.
For the day we rented a driver to bring us to every need-to-see-sight in Santorini, and we did just that! Starting our tour with downtown Oia where we saw the infamous blue dome and got to walk around the shop areas.
We continued our tour with some scenic roads and landing at the black beach!! Taking pictures all along the way, never missing an opportunity to take in the beautiful island. Our guide took us to his favorite spots, as he said he knew of “sights that were better as a local than any internet could give us.” He was right. Every time we took a turn, there was another magnificent sight to see. When we finally made it to the black beach we were so excited!! The sand is actually little black rocks due to the inactive volcano right across the water. Truly such a sight to see, and the oohhsss and ahhsss never stopped.
While at the black beach, we were able to eat some GOOD food and meet some awesome people. This was a highlight for many on our day trip. Including myself.
Once we finished eating, the resort kindly let us come back AFTER checking out, to lay by the pool, use their showers, and eat dinner with such a beautiful view. Continuing our trip with even more unreal experiences. We continued to thank God throughout the entire trip, as it is because of His call on our lives that we have this opportunity. His goodness and mercy overflows through our obedience to Him, and we will not forget that. We could see the Lords hand work throughout the entire trip, and we will not lose sight of His kindness towards us.
Peace and Blessings,
Carlin Poyner
PS!!! Shoutout to our driver, and the company we rented our driver from!! If you’re ever in Santorini be on the look out for @magic_south_transport and ask for the driver we had. His personality helping us find the best was so funny and yet in the laughter we found contentment with one another through the Holy Spirit. His name is Dionisis and he is also on instagram! Request him!!!
